The children spent time at the SPCA learning about the care of animals we call "pets". They got quizzed, were allowed to pet and visit the animals currently housed there.

Our GET OUT! group went camping together to try out their new outdoor skills. It was a fun and relaxing time of fire building, swimming, fishing and games.

A group of our children have formed a LEGO team, Aquabots, to compete in this year's First Lego League competition. They are spending time building and programming robots as well as team building and just plain fun!

The art show is an artistic display of over 50 pieces including felting, photography, watercolors, abstracts, art on homemade paper, pottery clocks, batiks, and so many others from our wonderfully creative kids!

The children joined in the celebration of what was once called "sugar month" or "maple moon" by learning about the collectiing of the sap, distilling sugar from maple sap as well as preparing a mid-day dinner.

The group has learned to navigate using a compass as well as the sun. They have plotted, traced and retraced their steps. They have constructed shelters and started fires. They learned to tie knots and administer first aid. In short, they are compiling knowledge and skills for a lifetime of adventures in nature…and enjoying every minute of it!

Three age groups are enjoying the opportunity to choose, read and discuss books with the support of Barnes&Noble. The younger groups also enjoy a follow-up craft time while the older children enjoy an opportunity to browse books and have casual discussions.

The chess club meets once a month to practice and hone their strategy skills. There is also an occassional opportunity to spend time with an experienced chess player.

Letterboxing fun pastime combining navigational skills and rubber stamp artistry in a charming "treasure hunt" style outdoor quest. Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online.

A hands-on experience where the children discovered animals are a lot like people. Animals and people both need a healthy diet, a comfortable home, social interaction, exercise and play.
